Program Description | Mechanical engineering is a fascinating field that involves the design, analysis, and manufacturing of mechanical systems. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines, from thermodynamics and fluid mechanics to materials science and robotics. The degree programme in mechanical engineering has always provided a strong technical and scientific that enables a continuous growth of graduates in the modern industrial system. You will become a mechanical engineer, a professional with a sound technical background in the knowledge areas belonging to industrial engineering, endowed with specific skills of the mechanical field. To fulfil various requirements of modern industries the degree program prioritises |
Program Content | The students will learn the fundamental concepts, knowledge and skills through high quality lectures, seminars, tutorials, laboratory sessions, design classes, and hands-on workshops, similar to how most other subjects are taught. In addition to exam-based testing, you will also be evaluated continually through reports, computer exercises, lab work, HomeWorks, project works and essays. Key areas of study and application within mechanical engineering include: - Mechanics: understanding how forces and motion affect objects and systems; - Thermodynamics: study of energy and heat transfer in mechanical systems. - Material Science: selection and behavior of materials used in mechanical design; - Fluid Mechanics: study of fluids (liquids and gases) and their behavior in motion and at rest. - Manufacturing processes: techniques for shaping materials into usable parts and products; - Machine design: understanding how to construct and design machine details like spring, bears, shafts... - Industrial plants and project management: students can learn design and layout, safety and environmental compliance, supply chain management, equipment selection and maintenance; - Introduction to electrical engieering and circuit theory: the behavior of magnetic circuits, three phase circuits, AC and DC motors, transformators, fundamental knowledge about resistors, circuit analyses |
Career Perspectives |
Graduates in Mechanical Engineering have a wide range of opportunities, covering all those industries that in different fields - design, produce, and maintenance components and systems, in plant engineering companies, in service and consultancy firms, as well as in public bodies. Your professional profile will allow you to handle the changes of the labour market and positively tackle new challenges in a quickly changing industrial environment. The field of mechanical engineering offers promising career prospects with opportunities for growth and specialization. Graduates with a degree in mechanical engineering can pursue roles such as: - Design Engineer - Manufacturing Engineer - Project Engineer/Manager - Research and development Engineer - Technical Sales Engineer - Quality Engineer - Operations Manager |
